From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #98: You know you will die of an incurable disease within three months. Would you allow yourself to be frozen within the week if you knew it would give you a modest chance of being revived in 1,000 years and living a greatly extended life?

No, I don't think I would. I would just live the next three months to the fullest. I would rather go to Heaven than take a small chance that I might live again 1000 years in the future where I know no one and the world is probably a bigger mess than it is today if it's even here at all.

I wouldn't do it. I don't want to wake up in 1,000 years and have no more husband, no more pets, no home, no one that I even know, no job, no knowledge of the technology or the way people are living, etc. I'd be like a caveman.

no because cryogenics is impossible. if it *was* possible, the answer is still no because all my friends would be dead and i'd be alone and still exactly who i am physically and mentally, and who knows if society still exists in 1,000 years. i'd rather spend 3 months with my friends than risk dying of starvation or exposure in a post-apocalyptic climate change doom world, lol.

No, I don't think I'd do it. The whole idea is just kind of creepy.

It's tempting because I don't want to die and I want to see the future advancements, but people I love would be dead so that puts a huge damper on the enjoyment I'd have.
So no.

I think once, the answer might have been yes, but now that I'm older... no. It's a lose lose situation: if it doesn't work, you've died even sooner than you would have before. If it does work, you wake up a thousand years later to find all of your loved ones are gone and you're alone. I'd rather spend my last 3 months with my friends and family.

No, because the world's about to end if things continue as is...and to tell the truth, I hate myself. Someone else can have the spot I would've taken up.
