From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.

Question #67: Without your kidney as a transplant, someone close to you will die within one month. The odds that you will survive the operation are only 50 percent, but should you survive you would be certain of a normal life expectancy. Would you consent to the operation?

My dad actually has kidneys in really poor shape.
I think he said they're only functioning at 30% - 37%.
I wanted to tell him he could have one of mine if he needed it, but I don't know if we'd match and he'd probably refuse xD

I would give my husband a kidney. That's about it though.

I would do it. Imagine living the rest of your life knowing that someone you loved died because you didn't take a risk.

Depending on how close to me they are. Like immediate family, I would not think twice. Someone that I'm close to but not family, I would have to think on that one. I would expect their family to be the first one to offer and not some unrelated friend.
