From The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock.
Question #63: Assume there were a technological breakthrough that would allow people to travel as easily and cheaply between continents as between nearby cities. Unfortunately, there would also be 100,000 deaths a year from the device. Would you try to prevent its use?

I feel like for this one it would be up to the person if they would want to use it. There is probably a waiver or form you need to sign before using something that sounds like it's still in the early stages, but no I probably won't try to prevent it. Traveling any where today you still got a chance of something happening that can cause death so it'll be like that. And as time goes on there would probably be advances in technology and would reduce the number of deaths.

That's more deaths than cars and planes combined in a year...So, yeah, I would try my absolute best to keep it from being used. That's not worth the pain and suffering of those who lose their loved ones. :(

I feel like it would be up to each individual to decide whether or not to use it. There would probably be terms to read then getting a ticket or whatever explaining the risks. I think I'd be pretty natural towards it, and try to stay away from it.

Hell naw, we can't use that travel. We're humans. We're more inventive than that. We can easily come up with something safer. Keep it in development a few more years and it will be fine.

I would've prevented using cars. And use this travel method instead

Wow, 1.25 million people dying in car crashes a year is crazy. I guess if that's the case, then this method of travel sounds a lot better than it did before.
