The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend

The other day, we saw this giant spider by the back door and it freaked us out because it was big.
As I said in another thread, I tend to not want to kill spiders because they do kill pests and typically don't want to give me heart attacks by being on me.
But my mom got the broom and smacked it and then tried to smash it.
I started to feel bad despite its horrific appearance and we decided to let it be.
My mom told me she used to see them at Walmart because they loved being in the pallets that got delivered.
We looked the spider up on the internet and found out it's a huntsman spider.
We have been finding dead roaches around the house a lot and some were like...dismembered and parts missing, but I assumed it was my psychoass cat doing it.
I also joke a lot about how she has spider assassins that kill the roaches and other pests.
Well, I was actually right. The huntsman spider is what most likely has been killing those roaches and eating them.
I then started to get really happy and feel worse that we hurt it.
I asked my mom if she thinks it was hurt bad and she said it was fine and sure enough, it crawled off somewhere else.
I was happy because we have our own personal roach killer(s).
I HATE roaches. A LOT. So having a spider friend helping us makes me happy.
I don't hate spiders - I will leave them alone because they're helpful.
But if there's one on me, I will freak out and throw it across the yard.
