Halloween is over and the clock struck midnight. November is here. NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is the time of year where people all over the world decide to attempt to write 50,000 words or more in just 30 days. Let us share our ideas, our tales, our woes of NaNo's past and present.
Now turn off that inner editor and start writing.

I tried last year and didn't succeed. I think I might just try the same story again. I think I got about 5k words in.

Real talk for a moment: Can we Go back to that month that Pokemon Go was released. Everyone was so happy and the only people down my throat were old men at work who complained about a cell phone app kids were playing. Can we have that? Please.

I'm planning on doing a different book this year than last. Honestly I think the inspiration just came to me from just random posting in discord lol

One year, I had over 30,000 words down and the flash drive with the story corrupted. Needless to say, that was one year that I didn't finish the 50k. Sometimes I build on a previous story, but I usually try for a new one.

Oh, I was just looking for this in type of thread in the novels and poems subforum.

This is the first year I have participated in five years. When I transferred schools, my finals fell in November so I decided the wise thing was to focus on school...and then I just completely forgot about it until this year.

I have never made it to 25K words since I was still a student and tried to be a diligent student by studying. But this year I already have over 11K words written. This is the first time I've wrote anything in years besides the one story idea I've been tweaking around with. I just started writing and the first few pages are completely different from where it went because this is not where I was expecting it to go at all, but totally motivated to keep it going.

I've always wanted to participate, but never seem to have the time. Perhaps I should try this year. :mcheh:

the nice thing about trying is that if you don't make it, you haven't exactly lost much, and if you do, then you've gotten much accomplished.
:)
Go for it! We'll cheer you on.
