Blocking

I had to block someone today because they kept making me feel bad about myself.
I have gotten that most of my life in real life, I refuse to tolerate it online too.

I used to block people easily, but I've gotten to where I don't like to.
I will usually ignore them instead.

It takes a lot for me to keep myself from resorting back to my, er, abrasive self.
I prefer to be nice and handle things maturely, but I lose my patience sometimes.

I've had to deal with toxic people a lot in my life and I just straight up don't want to be around anyone and don't have patience for people like that.
It's hard for me to not yell at them and be rude.

Do you usually block people?

I've never had to block anyone, but considering your case it's totally understandable. Block those toxic people outta your life!!!

I've never blocked anyone but definitely 'unfriended' them - it's important to cut out people that cause negative emotions. People like that tend to want a reaction so it's best to just block them and stop them before they hurt you.

I've blocked people before, but it's not often that I do.

I've blocked my ex.
I mean, the guy had the nerves to ghost me after making me promise not to forget them. And since then he's sent me a few "hello, how are you?" and a new friend request after I unfriended him.
It pissed me off so I blocked him.

I don't think I've blocked anyone on any site...

I just don't interact enough for anyone to notice me I think, haha...

To me, blocking is the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU" so no, I've never done it. :mcsquee:

But I have cut people out of my life. They usually don't try to contact me after that, but if they do I'll hear what they have to say. For one, I can't really stand NOT knowing. And for two, there's always the (slight) possibility that someone can change.

i block people in places like twitter and tumblr constantly. trolls love to search specific terms and leave idiotic replies to my tweets. on forums, though, it's rare that i block anyone. most people are nice enough that there's no need. usually only super creepy people with offensive references in their icon/username/signature will get a block from me so i don't have to see them popping up everywhere.

I'm old enough that life is too darn short to tolerate offensive people online. Anyone trying to stir up trouble on any of my online place is blocked forthwith and never thought of again. Especially when I can tell they are just trying to cause trouble for the sheer joy of it. I had to tolerate enough people like that when I was young and I have no need to now.
