I have recently started to desire writing to my state's senator, but I have nothing to write to them about. Sure, I can write about the bills that have been turned into laws, but that seems fruitless; although, I did read that writing to your senator could form an acquaintanceship which could remind them of whom they are representing, or influence them to vote for or against a bill. I did write to Obama once while I was in high school, and it was to invite him to my high school graduation... sort of. I knew he wouldn't be able to say yes because of reasons, but sill, I did get a reply.

I'd write to remind them just who they are representing. and bring up issues that concern you, even if they're not being brought up to be discussed.

I recently learned of an issue that I am concerned with that they passed. I did do a little bit of research, but the media and the information I got has me confused. I decided I'd write him an e-mail, but... the topics the form is giving me don't fit what I want to write to him about, since it's neither welfare or healthcare; although, I do feel like it would fit healthcare since the issue I want to address relates to health. Ugh, I don't know... I think it would be best to send him an actual letter, despite the fact it could take at least 90 days.

Writing an actual, physical letter, would be how I'd go to do it, tbph. But I enjoy writing paper letters, so...

Writing a physical letter does take away the limited issues to discuss. I mean, the e-mail option, I had to select what the issue was related to, but I was unsure of which main issue my concern was with. I won't get into details about it, but I did start feeling bad about it, so I probably won't write to my senator.

I've never written to mine. My government sucks butt so I'm just super angry about it all the time. I don't think I could write anything that would change their minds.

I write all the time about important issues and laws that are going into effect soon. It's very important to make your voice heard.

Where do you live? I know in the U.S. that someone always reads it. They need to know if it's a threat or what the majority of vocal people want. It's bad politics to be ignorant of what your most active constituents are thinking and taking action on. Politicians care less about less active citizens who are likely to let them do anything they want.
