"oh..." :mcsquee:

Do you get excited each time you get a PM? Or do you get, like, phonecall anxiety and are nervous about opening it?
I get a bit of both, but mostly excitement :o

For me it's usually phonecall anxiety and I am like "What's broken now?!"

*pats Firn*

I pretty much just assume someone's selling something a wishlist item at this point, and hope that it's not overpriced or being sold for FCs.

My feelings: casual indifference.

Haha, you have to be admired for opening it then, Firn! That's true responsibility right there. xD
If I get unpleasant emails, I either procrastinate it, or open it and pretend I didn't - until it's 11pm and I have to think about. I am good at adult. :mcheh:
@Mikael: So calm and collected. How you do this. How do I reach that.

Aha, I think it'd be more pleasant to get excited over PMs, but my inbox is always running out of room, and I tend to usher folks over to my hangout instead (link in sig, lol).

I do get excited when I'm searching for RPs on Gaia, though, since the prospect for potential partners always interests me.

And my anxiety tends to lean more towards offline communications, such as having to socialize in a crowd of strangers (that pretty much drains me) or dealing with difficult/a ton of customers.

I had to separate myself at a Thanksgiving party in November because of the former, but I was pretty fine when I had things to keep me busy (like giving out gifts and helping with dinner) for Christmas. Having space to retreat to also helps a lot. That Thanksgiving party was too crowded, aha.

As for work, I remember I was shaking at one point because I was so concerned on messing up something in our new system that a patron asked if I was alright. I told him I was just over-caffeinated, which wasn't a complete lie either, aha. I'm always over-caffeinated --or just plain caffeinated. My desk constantly has tea or coffee on it; just yesterday, I had two coffees and a milk tea.

I think I'm most excited because of my long absence - I can't wait to get back into the swing of things and get into the society! (So I may have visited your hangout...) :qh:

I miss Gaia, I think I've been absent from it even longer than here! And Gaia is how I found this site, back in '08. I was involved in a few roleplays over the years there, mostly guilds - with a handful of friends rather than big ones.
But school got in the way, and I got off-track with it. I haven't RPd since college, I wouldn't know how to begin now. :mcargh: I would like to get back into creative writing though, when my work stabilises!

I feel you completely with work stuff. I was in retail until a couple of weeks ago, and it is extremely draining.
I think part of it was my coworkers - sometimes there would be long solo shifts, which was rough on the psyche (talking to no-one but customers for 8 hours) and due to the work load falling on just one person. So like, I rejected a lot of 'want to get drinks after work?' requests because honestly, I just wanted to go home and be completely silent.
I am somewhat the same in parties, I'm okay with 'my people' but lost without them, and uncomfortable with acquaintances. >__>

Aha, nice! Well, you are more than welcomed there!

I only go on Gaia when I want to RP, aha. And I found KofK the same way as well!

Ahhh, yeah, an unbalanced workload or being overworked sucks. My manager often tries to give me her assignments because she's busy with so many others, or doesn't want to do them. She also makes me work on more paper/computer stuff in the background because I'm more reliable on it than my coworker (who has better customer service, but makes more mistakes).

I wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't feel like she was shirking her work or if I didn't also have to double check everything my coworker (who's been there as long as I have) does. My manager's constant nagging and nitpicking is also annoying, but eh, no workplace is perfect.

Depending on the number of new folks and the setting, meeting people can be enjoyable for me. I certainly like doing so online, but offline comes with more conditions, aha.

*pats Kit* I think the Market Notification System goes off faster than I have money for so I just leave them in my inbox to rot, lol.

I don't pay much attention to my PMs. They're never from real people, just auction stuff. And I often can't afford the stuff on my wishlist!
