Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I'm a bit late on the game, but I'm surprised there's no thread for this yet. Have any of you played Breath of the Wild, and if so, do you like it?

I've just started two days ago, and I'm really taking my time on it (I'm still in the first area of the game). Mostly, I've been hunting, exploring, accidentally dying from everything, and smacking bad guys around with magnetized metal objects.

It's been so much fun!

(If you've played, please share some of your experiences with me, but be kind and put spoilers under a cut, please!)

I can't wait to get my horse.

I've been holding out for it, too. I'm excited for you and also envious.
I've tried a little. It's cool how you can just.. go? You can go fight Ganon now, if you want.
It's cool but an adjustment. I'm used to the ol' Earth Temple, Fire Temple, Water Temple... weird temples, or w/e, in between stuff, BIG TEMPLE, FINAL TEMPLES.. special weapon areas... idk.
I liked the old formula ^_^

Lol, I can't even fight his minions at this point; if I did I would just die.

I think you can still hit different places, but it doesn't have to be in order. Not sure though.

Yeah! I'm pretty sure you can go wherever you want - you just might be blocked by lacking certain items to get through areas, if you know what I mean?

Ah yeah.

The open world is really admirable, although I'm intimidated by a lot of the baddies.

Everything seems to woop your ass at first... that was my impression after an hour of playing o_o

Oh yeah, I agree! It's a world of death.

I tried to register a deer into one of the public stables the other day, but the owner wouldn't let me.

I also met some Zoras.
Spoiler
Their flashy prince got on my nerves a bit with his cheering. Dude swam up river no problem, but made me climb up and around in the rain while avoiding electrocution? Ugh. I got shocked to death so many times, I started sympathizing for Team Rocket.

I died a lot
This is expected so there's a lot of quick saving done by the game
I got the Master Sword (it's not necessary, but it makes the games and Divine Beasts easier)
Conquered the Divine Beasts
Beat Ganon
Have the expansion pass for all the DLC
Have most of the shrines done
Most of the side quests too
About half the korok seeds, if that

Right now I'm just being lazy and maxing out my armor

Oh, you've pretty much completed the game, yeah? Was it difficult for you?

My save file has the star that indicates game beaten

Attempted the Master Sword Trials. The Champion's skills you get don't work there, unlike Eventide Island
I don't think you get the Slate Runes either. It's been a while since I last attempted it
That's really hard

Before you fight the final boss, make sure any and all horses you have in the stables are at 100% affection. Elsewise you have to control the horse as you shoot the Bow of Light, as I found. Mainly when it gets scared and tries to flee

If you have the Epona Amiibo DO NOT USE ON THE GREAT PLATEAU you can only summon her once and without a stable up there, you can't register her, making your only choice to start over cuz hers is a one use per game

Amiibo cards do work, I've used Lottie from Animal Crossing before. LoZ related ones grant Zelda related things
Non-Zelda items are usually food
