My block isn't really ACTIVE most of the time, but we've had all kinds of stuff going on.
A murder suspect lived two houses down from me, several car accidents, a neighbor hitting is asshole son with a hammer, cops chasing drug dealers, random gunshots, a ton of police and ambulance sirens, store's been robbed, and so on.
Soooo we are kind of nosy.
However, my mom used to sit by the blinds and just look out.
I only do it if I hear or see something.
And I literally hide in the shadows and watch people outside.
When there's trouble, most of the neighbors go outside and watch.
I prefer to stay in the shadows and watch.
I've got plenty of windows, I can see everything xD

I feel childish, but when people knock on the door, I run and hide and wait until they leave.
I'm legit afraid of opening the door for people. Unless I know them well.

We're pretty close with our neighbors.
They've lived here since before I was a baby, so we've grown old together xD
We typically watch out for each other.
Which feels safe.
Despite the bullshit that goes on xD
We also help each other out with random stuff.
My dogs actually got loose and they started chasing this guy that always rides his bike past our houses.
He saw us chasing the dogs, so he circled back to us so we could get them.
People around here are usually nice.
Everyone says hi and asks how you are. Even if you're just passing by.
I remember when I was walking and carrying a soda can and talking to my dogs.
As I've mentioned, I don't walk straight. I kind of sways and wobble.
So he was like "8u...you okay, ma'am?"
I don't know if he thought I was drunk, crazy or was just polite xD

I am a little nosy. I live on a really quiet street, so I don't look out a lot. But I do sometimes, especially if I see a police car. I just peek out though, I don't want to be seen. My neighbor is REALLY nosy. She sits and looks out a lot and even keeps binoculars by the window. And she doesn't care if people see her. She'll even come out of the house and go up to the police and ask what is going on or take pictures! But it's never with any concern at all, it's always just to get juicy gossip. She's really really mean.

The neighbours are so noisy here because we share the street with a baptist church, a mosque, a daycare and on the other side of the street there are two schools so it's a tonne of cars going in and out, tonnes of stupid kids being loud and there's this bloody man who always paces up and down the street having loud conversations on his phone.
*grumble grumble

You're not alone Moi. When someone knocks on the door I stop breathing and pretend I'm not home and sometimes I'll creep to see who it is after I think they're gone. I just don't like talking to people. Like that better be the bloody postman and not you trying to sell me raffle tickets. I should have a house mat that says "don't try to sell me shit".

Oh dear. I live in bad neighborhoods too where scary things happen, and yeah... I literally never answer the door. Not just because of scary things but also... social interaction... ugh.

It's always hilarious to me watching TV where people are always answering their damn doors, and then someone barges in or something, it's like what are you some kinda idiot!!

I live next to a bunch of old people that never leave the house and make halloween suck.
