Ignorance

The state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.

Ignorance is a huge problem in this day and age.
Some people don't take the time to learn and wish to stay in their own little bubble.
It can lead to many problems we face today.
Such as racism or sexism or intolerance for anyone not heterosexual.
People refuse to change and accept everything changes or their beliefs and thoughts might be flawed.

I noticed a lot of older family members refuse to admit they're wrong.
When they bring up old wives' tales and are corrected, they get angry.
They don't want to listen to facts and think they're right.
Which they're not.

I know I can be stubborn and don't like hearing I'm wrong, I eventually get over it and am happy to learn something new.
I know it's hard to hear you're wrong, but it helps to know you're doing something that's negative and won't help you.

I was telling my little sister that knowledge is powerful in this day and age.
It's good to learn as much as you can in this life.

I have always loved learning.
Problem is, I can't retain a lot of stuff.
I feel happy when my knowledge comes in handy because I know things others don't and I feel useful xD

How do you feel?

My personal take on ignorance is that it's frustrating, but it's not something that could necessarily be solved through logic or arguments. It might help in some cases, but what we can do personally is try to educate others.

I mean, I'm sure everyone is ignorant to some degree. I certainly have been on the wrong end of ignorance a number of times, and learned a lot from it, and will hopefully continue learning from it. Being able to inform yourself and others is one step forward, and humility is another. Many of us have causes to champion, but instead of preaching at others or trying to shove our views down their throats, it's important to engage with others in a way where we can both understand each other and come out better for it. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it's what I hope for.
