Ant Problems

Every Summer, ants decide to invade my home in search of food. While I don't really mind them, I want to keep them from coming into my house. Too long have I not minded them. Too long I have showed them mercy. There has been only ONE year where they hadn't come into my home, and I forgot why that was... might have been the ant poison. My mom had prayed some ant poison around the house, and yet, they find other ways into my home. I thought of leaving a candy or something on top of their home so it would take them time to get out, but that would probably attract more ants. I see them on my dresser, and despite the fact I vacuumed a bunch of other ants, they came back! Who here has in directions for me to follow, and who else has ant problems?

Spray and keep spraying
Raid is good

I see. I suppose that would work... Raid does not work for us any longer, I'm afraid... just like how the spray my mom uses seems to have been adapted to as well.

We had to get ants out of the house once, but I don't remember what we did.

I did find this, though:

I don't know if that will help.

Have you tried sitting down with the queen and discussing it over tea u8?

I think I'll try that because that sounds like it'll be helpful and beneficial... I just need to not let my dogs get to it.

EDIT: I need to go to the store to buy some cinnamon.

Occasionally I'll see some but they don't ever stay long. I guess they are just passing through? xD

Good luck getting rid of them though! I hope the cinnamon works for you.

Cinnamon worked for me for blocking their trails and entryways - I had to use an animal-safe blocker because my chickens would've eaten any poison, so I tried it and it worked very well. Once ant season was over, just vacuumed it up.

Hope something works for you, having an ant invasion sucks :(

It's awesome you found a non harmful way to rid yourself of ants. Do you let your chickens run around without a fence area?
