Memory

I spoke to my uncle about a lot of things and he brought up memories.
He was told he couldn't remember something because he didn't care about it.
Basically, if you can't remember someone's name or birthday, it's because you don't care about them.
Which isn't true.

I've felt that way because I can't remember a lot of things.
One being birthdays. I don't remember most of my loved ones' birthdays.
I love them as much as possible, but I can't remember dates and numbers too good.
I can remember what month they were born in, but not the days.

I seem to have issues with holding recent memories.
I can forget something in a few seconds.
I can remember way back, though.
I can remember days where I was 6 years old, what I wore, what I was thinking and what I was doing.
But I can't remember a name or phone number after a few seconds.
And I have trouble remembering to call places, what I said, my messages, what art I owe, etc.

I'm not sure what happened to my grandma, but she was kind of...not really there towards the end of her life.
But she could remember things from way back.
I don't know if it was Dementia or Alzheimer's or what.
I think those are horrible.
I've seen people who have Alzheimer's and how damaging and sad it is.

I wish I could pick and choose what I want to remember.
I have so many bad memories that I want to get rid of.
And I don't love those memories - I hate them.
But they're still there xD

How is your memory?
Do you know anyone with Dementia or Alzheimer's?

I'd say I have really good memory when I experience something in person. If someone texts me an important date to remember, I probably won't remember. If someone tells me something in person, however, I'll definitely remember it. :-)

I have a somewhat poor memory. Depends on what it is. I usually remember dumb things and forget the important ones. :mcheh:

My god father had Alzheimer's. It was really hard to watch.
