As the title says, there are a lot of sad anime out there, which ones were the saddest in your books?
Mine are:
Clannad
Air
Kanon
(Key just makes really sad anime)

Top 3 is hard for me since I'm not sure if I've ever really cried at an anime before; except one:
Your lie in April (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso)

Animes rarely make me emotional but at those three I could not hold it, specially since I watched them as I was a tab younger.

Chrono Crusade
Death Parade
Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi
Honorable mentions that didn't make the list. (Some of them aren't tragedies but just got me emotional)
Pandora Hearts (Honestly this would've been on my list but I've never watched the anime, just have the manga), Wolf Children, Hotarubi no mori e, Orange, Gakkou Gurashi!, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, Shinsekai Yori, Sakamichi no Apollon, Doten ni warau.

I have emotional moments in every anime xD But I can think of two that made me cry really hard. Clannad and Your Lie in April. Omgoshness I loved the animes but I don't think I can watch them again, they made me so sad. xD
