Hi, there

since we get double fp for posting in this forum, I thought it might be nice to open a thread to discuss something that is not too serious or might even make you chuckle. What could be better for some hilarious and heartwarming anecdotes than pets.
So, do you have a pet? Which?
What experiences have you made as a pet owner?
And if you don't have a pet, tell us why or if you've ever thought of getting one... cause this thread should be for everyone

wow, that's a lot

I have 2 cats and 2 turtles... and I'm thinking of getting some chicken since we have a big garden (still need to convince my grandma

she's worried that chicken will be too much work)

Oh, but chickens are very easy to take care of, especially as adults! The hardest part is getting a secure coop and run ready ahead of time XD Just make sure they have enough space and feed, water, and grit available and they'll pretty much take care of themselves. If you use deep litter in the coop, you just rake it around and only clean it all out once or twice a year.
I have nine adults, we just got seven new babies, and four more adults are coming later in the summer
(Inside pets are three cats and about a dozen fish)

I've always wanted a rabbit since I saw one in a pet shop my uncle owned as a kid. It was a nice experience because it came right up to me and I had kind of a little connection with it? I think that's an important quality in finding a pet, when you can feel a connection with it, earn it's trust and viseversa, etc.
As for my pets, I mostly own cats (it's a thing w/ my family, as they had kittens; so we have a ton, close to 13). They're nice but it's hard to upkeep with the smell and they do fight a lot... I'd love to have a cute toy breed puppy or a fluffy one, as well as other animals.

I have two dogs and a cat.
I did have a fish, but he died last year.
Oldest dog: Hyde
Youngest dog: Saya
Cat: Kiri
My dog Saya had puppies a few years ago and I bent over and I said "Awww, what a cute little--" and Saya walked up to me, licked me inside my mouth, then walked off like she did nothing at all. I was like ">>....-watches her walk away bitchily-"
And my dog Hyde LOVES my attention.
If I pay attention to Saya, he runs up and rams her out of the way.
And if I pay attention to another dog, he barks at me until I pay attention to him.
My dog Saya is pretty anti-social. She's a sweet little dog, but she doesn't like being touched or loved on or petted or anything.
She also has this nervous habit of licking things - especially Hyde.
She doesn't just lick, she LICKS.
My cat meows sometimes and it sounds like "Hello" so if someone is alone with her and they hear "Hello" they freak out and look around the house for someone xD

I have a bunny and I think pet is actually a companion who happens to be an animal so I don't understand why people say cats or dogs when they are talking about pets.

I have an adult golden retriever that belonged to my cousins for about two days. :P They had rescued her, but she ate one of their chickens, and so we got her!
I always wanted a dog, and I'm glad I have her. I still want a collie dog, though, and maybe one day I will own a collie. ^^ But for now, I have Angel, who really is the best dog I could have right now.
I wish I could own a horse, but there's no practicality for that. It's expensive, and I don't live in/especially close to the country. Maybe when I'm an adult, but sometimes it's hard to have dreams as a teen that you know you have to achieve when you're an adult... sometimes it's easier to not dream, I guess.
Anyway, what appeals me to collies is that they're so pretty, and smart, and have great personalities. And I loved Lassie as a kid. I watched it with my grandparents once.
Experiences as a pet owner? Well, I guess a pretty traumatic one was being home alone with my dog & sister in the first week... and she threw up because of eating medicine on an empty stomach.
Yeah... :P
