I've been talking to Firn about how to reward the score won in the Knuffel games. There are two possible ways we are thinking about:
A. The one I call the "Lottery solution"
- For every fixed amount of points, yo get a "ticket" (which will be an ID code or something)
- Each week (or more often, when we feel like it) all tickets take part in a drawing the winner of the lottery gets a prize
B. The other, I call it the "Race solution"
- We set up some point marks (Like 5000, 10000, 50000, 100000 and so on)
- The first player that reaches each mark gets a prize
We're pretty sure we'll make the prize one free Knuffel you can choose from all Knuffels there are (except maybe the customs and special occasion versions), even ones sold out.
I think solution A has is better for the players, since it gives everybody a chance and not only the top players, while those with a higher score would still have a higher probability of winning. On the other hand, solution B is much easier to program.
Thus I want to ask: Which do you prefer?
