Kingdom of Knuffel

Kira saw Chaos smile at her; she walked over and stood at the doorway.

"Good morning, you two," she said. "Did you make the breakfast?" The question was directed at Chaos.

Kayo eventually stumbled out of bed in a daze, and made it to the bathroom to brush his teeth, before splashing some water on his face to help wake him up. In a few minutes, he was out, surprised to smell food in the kitchen already. Kira wasn't this fast at cooking, was she?

He saw the other three standing by the other room, and grinned. "Everyone get a good night's sleep after the party yesterday?" His eyes were on Ruby, the events of the previous night suddenly fresh in his mind.

Chaos chuckled and nodded lightly at her question. "Yeah, everything's ready if you guys are hungry."

Ruby pulled away from Chaos a little and went over to Kira, giving her a hug without saying anything, then glanced at Kayo when he made himself known and nodded, a small smile painted across her lips. She pulled away from Kira and held her hand. "Shall we go see what Chaos has cooked up?" She asked, curious.

Kayo's eyes shifted to his sister, wrapped up in Ruby's arms while Chaos looked on. There was a slight shift in the way Chaos' eyes lit up when he saw Kira, and Kayo knew it had something to do with last night's party. Something had changed for both, his sister as well as him. Once again, contrary to his personality, he kept his reaction subtle, a small smile as his eyes settled on Ruby, and went over to the table.

"Starving!" He made a beeline for the plates and grabbed a couple of slices of toast and some eggs.

Kira looked at the breakfast spread, hand-in-hand with Ruby. "Oh, do you guys want some cheese or chili crisp? We've got some in the fridge." She brought out the cheese slices and bottle of chili crisp and set them on the table with two spoons.

Chaos pulled down a few plates for his friends and himself, and set to plating the eggs and toast, making his own plate last, and setting the other plates on the table. Except Kayo made his own plate. "Oh, awesome! I was wondering if you had any." He smirked some, hoping Kira and Kayo liked his cooking.

Ruby felt lighter, in a way, despite her nightmare, though a bit quiet as if still actually waking up.

Kira helped Chaos with setting up the table, shaking her head lightly at her brother. She kept stealing glances at Chaos from time to time, looking for signs of.... well, anything, really. After yesterday's kiss, she was sure that things had changed between them. But what?

Maybe she would have to talk to him about it to find out? But how would she bring it up in the first place?

She took a seat next to Ruby at the table as her brother hungrily wolfed down the eggs and toast. Ruby seemed somewhat quiet and possibly unsettled. "You okay?" she asked her quietly.

Kayo, for his part, had been busy with his food, still in a half askleep state, but his ears pricked up at Kira's question, and he found himself listening intently for Ruby's answer.

Chaos occasionally stole brief and concealed glances at Kira, and couldn't help the small smile that came to his lips whenever he caught her glancing at him. He turned his attention to Ruby for a moment when Kira spoke to her, before grabbing his own plate and sitting at the table with his friends.

Ruby paused when Kira came over to her and nodded lightly with a small smile. "I'm okay, Kira." She said softly, slowly reaching and draping an arm around her waist. "Still sleepy." She said softly, before slowly pulling her arm back and took a bite of her eggs.

"What did you guys want to do today?" Chaos asked curiously, glancing at his friends.

Kira thought about Chaos' question, eyebrows furrowed lightly in thought. "Maybe we could catch a movie?" she suggested. "It's been a while since we did that." Her eyes met Chaos' briefly and she stifled the smile that crept up on her face, even if she could do nothing about the pink tinge on her cheeks.

"I'm down," Kayo said in between bites. And then, out of nowhere, he remember something that had happened at the party, something that he'd almost missed in his fury at the sudden male attention that the girls had been getting. The new sub teacher.

"By the way, any of you guys get a good look at the new teach yesterday?" he asked casually.

Kira looked surprised at this, for she hadn't realized there was a new teacher. Had she missed that announcement?
