How many OCs do you have? I have a bunch. It's because my undying imagination. I've started trying to put more detail into each character, but the designs come so fast, I end up neglecting a lot of them.

I recently found an old character list that I had made so I wouldn't use the same name over for other characters. So I counted them up. And then added in the characters from the other worlds I had and it, uh, was over one thousand. >.>
Hey, nobody was nice to me for years! Had to make my own friends. XD;

Keep on designing and loving 'em. It hasn't made me cuckoo yet!

I used to try hard not to use the same names.
Now I don't care.
Whatever I think the character looks like, that's what I name them.

I'm sure some of the names make no sense or don't belong with them.

I used to say i would never create oc's but now look at me i actually have a few :qlol: i spend more time on their designs then actual personality and i'm slowly working on that part but every time i look at them i'm like nooo must change this thiiing/trying to rationalize really weird hair

I've changed a couple of mine over the years.
I try not to change too much because I did commission people to draw some of them.
It'd be dumb to make big changes when I have such a nice art 8u

I probably had up to 20 at one point... Yes, some do get neglected and kind of wither away and die.
However, I do have at least six that I draw from time to time and constantly think about.
Some are even based off of avatars on different sites.

I have a ton, but they're more for writing than for art. For current characters I enjoy drawing or have made proper references of, I would guess at around 20 to 30.

Er, but then come to think of it, what constitutes as an "original character"? Because the ones I was thinking of are the ones that I've worked on in terms of personality, background, and story, but there are also a ton of original art that I've just whipped up for fun. For the latter, they may get additional art or they may not. Sometimes I reuse them or refine them, but I'm not surprised if there are times that I've left them as is or have forgotten about them.

These days I only create OCs if I have a project in mind, and if I abandon the project they die with it. I used to make OCs for their own sake, but it left me feeling unsatisfied, like they were a wasted effort. I know for a lot of people they're worthwhile in and of themselves, but for me it just didn't work. I guess I'm not the right type of creator.
