Server maintenance - all fixed now!

Hello people,
a happy new year to you all! I've been working on pinpointing the reason for our recent problems with server lags and all, since Firn and I returned from our holidays, and now I think I have the problem at it roots.
I've been suspecting load bursts to be the cause of it all, which unfortunately didn't explain everything. Even after I had the measures in place so that the server should theoretically take those peaks, it continued misbehaving in a different weird way, and after days spent on figuring out the exact reason for that, I found the misbehaving piece to be either the disc or the respective controller. Either way, I need our provider guys to fix the hardware issue, so currently I'm trying to schedule a time with them.
We will have a downtime of several hours definitively, though I can't tell when exactly yet, and I'll try to time it so that if affects as few of you as possible. Expect the downtime to happen tomorrow, January 4th, in the afternoon CET.
I know you're tired of this server mess and hopefully we'll rid ourselves of this problem for good. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
[UPDATE]
Sorry people, the provider guys actually had to replace the hard disc to fix the problem, which meant I had to install the whole server from scratch and put our data back, which took quite longer than I had expected.
Now all systems are back online, and the server is running as supposed to.
I'll have a look at all the issues you had during the time of the server problems tomorrow...
