[UPDATE] Server migration tasks in progress!
Posted: Oct 9th, '10, 00:44
Hello everybody,
the good news is: our long-awaited second server is available now! I am now setting it up so it will host the Kingdom's database and some of the most storage-intensive parts of our site.
Though this process will take a few days and I hope to keep the service running seamlessly as possible, I expect this to be impossible at certain points, so there will be one or two periods where I will have to shut down the entire site. I'll try to keep these times minimal and to inform you beforehand, but please keep in mind that downtimes can occur during the next few days.
Have fun!
[UPDATE]
Server downtime imminent!
The new server has been successfully set up, and the next step will be to migrate all current service to the new server.
After refitting the old server with a more current OS, parts of the site will be transferred back, though I hope you won't actually notice that.
For said migration, kofk will shut down at approx. 2:30 am UTC+1 (which is in about half an hour from now), I hope to keep this downtime below 45 minutes.
