Server downtime - my apologies!

Edit: Just some quick additional note: Whenever this site is lagging, which is happening quite often lately, please don't hit submit/edit/etc several times when you are about to post but don't get a reaction. It will only cause more load to the server and once all processes go through your posts will appear several times.
Hello again,
you will have noticed our server has been first lagging, and then down for nearly an hour - again, as usual caused by the high number of users online and posting concurrently. We're back on line for now, though posting may be slow for a few more minutes, since cleanup on the database tables is still in progress.
I want to apologize for the insufficient efforts put into server maintenance work. We are only two people here, and I'm the only one doing all the coding, the database updates and the server administration, and I admit that I am, frankly, not up to the mass of things to do around here.
Though we are overwhelmed with joy considering how much interest and support to our site this means, we are getting to the limits of our current hardware faster than we had expected. I have tried implementing a few things to buy us some time before I can get around to setting up the long-promised second server with a more appropriate database configuration, and now all I can do is to plead for your patience with us.
Have fun, and sorry again for the downtime.
