A: To go digging with your Knuffel, visit the Digging Page. Select the Knuffel you want to send digging, and click on a button belonging to an area where you want that Knuffel to dig, and hopefully find material.

How well your Knuffel can dig for material in a certain area depends on its Digging Statistics, where it has digging ability points each corresponding to 1% probability of finding a material when digging in an area of the respective element.

Your Knuffel itself belongs to a certain element, which makes it start at a 10% chance of finding material in an area connected to this element. For each level up you may raise your Knuffel's digging ability in the element of your choice by 1.

Note that it is possible to increase this number above 100%, which then does not affect the probability of finding material, but increases the rate at which rarer materials are found.

Your Knuffel needs Energy and Happiness to dig, so make sure you feed it and play with it first. When both the Energy and Happiness bar turn gray, this Knuffel can dig.

Each Knuffel also has a daily Digging Limit, which increases as its level increases. Your Knuffel can dig only this many times before you have to wait till the next day to send this Knuffel digging again. The daily Digging Limit is reset at 0:00 AM every day at server local time, which is GMT + 1.

Your Knuffel gains Experience from successful digging - note that the amount of Experience gained is higher if it finds material in an area that is not of its element. But on the other hand, your Knuffel expends Energy and Happiness points with each dig (even if it finds nothing), and these amounts are also higher if the Knuffel has to dig in an area that is not its element.
