I have... A large hot coffee LOL
I'm staying at the library until it closes today to escape the heat. Free AC!

If you need somewhere to get locked in, a library sounds like heaven to me.

Right? I'm so glad that there's a library nearby. The only downside is the amount of screaming little kids OTL
I'm not the only one seeking refuge from the heat it seems XD

Screaming in a library?
No "silence" signs there or what?

I don't think there are many clear signs about staying silent in our library.
Also, even if there are, if small kids are upset they're gonna be crying... So often it's crying mixed with desperate shushing sounds from their parents...
I personally feel like if people are going to take their kids to public places like the library, they should only do it if they can ensure the proper behaviour. If not then it's just bad for everyone and super irresponsible.

Absolutely!
And, you know, here libraries are sacred places - such as any temple - and making noise in them is quite frowned upon.
Of course kids don't know any better, but adults are supposed to be teaching them!
We go to the library regulary, and my son knows to whisper whenever he needs to talk to us. So I assume any kid can if he's taught to.

Right?
Like for toddlers, I get that they're gonna cry at the drop of a hat, and it's impossible to expect the parents to be able to stop that from happening. But thankfully usually these parents are just there to pick things up and don't stay long.
For slightly older children, I get super annoyed when they talk loudly and run around and their parents don't do anything except a superficial shush. I'm not above openly giving them Disapproving Looks 8U
Though sometimes there are children who do whisper, but they likely haven't figured out volumes yet so the whispers are super loud too in the quiet space, but hey at least they're trying, so good job them! XD
...I've been spending too much time in the library lately, as you can see XD

Disapproving Looks are a weapon of social power, do not hesitate to use it. On parents too.
Ah, little children loud whispering.
You sometimes feel like telling them "if this is your whispering, how is your shouting?" but you don't say it, in case they mean to show you xD

Speaking of children, i think it was friday or saturday night, 1am, the kids upstairs were stilling running and banging around so loudly, my parents couldn’t sleep and my dad actually went out and knocked on their door, telling them to quiet it down. 8u apparently the upper unit had friends over that they hadn’t seen for awhile and the kids were still running banging around past midnight…8u my parents were notttt amused, especially since we could still hear them over the loud ac unit (in my parents room) and my fan (in my room). 8u
