Chrizine wrote:Yessss, go for the books Julez, they're even better than the show!

Also, I don't need to tell you that I'm super excited as well, Nikki ;)

Apart from game of thrones, I also like Vikings, Lucifer, Miss Fisher's murder mysteries (or whatever it's called in english) - which I'm off to watch now, since it starts on tv in 3 min :)
Probably more, but those pop into my head right now.
LoL, Oh yes I knew you would be excited as well.

I went to the movie theatre tonight for the first time in years and saw "Fighting with My Family". I really enjoyed it! :mccute:

The books by George R.R. Martin are simply amazing. His writing is unlike any other. Especially his food descriptions. I feel like he can make the most disgusting meal sound delicious.

One unique thing is that he writes from a ton of very different characters povs. And they all feel different and alive. And everyone in the story feels like a real person, with motivations for what they do. Even the ones you want to hate, you can often see how they became the way they are. I find it very hard to pick who to root for ^^

Nikki, do you know there's an official cookbook? ;)
It was made by some fans who started a blog trying to recreate some of the meals and eventually they got his blessings to publish some as the cookbook of ice and fire :D
The blog is named inn at the crossroads. I'd link it, if I wasn't on mobile right now. But it should be easy to find. Most of the recipes are on there, there's just a few cookbook exclusives.

That's so cool that he approved of that! (the recipes)

That sounds very interesting actually, the different perspectives..

He said they brought some food to events he was at and he was super excited that fans would go and actually try to cook the food that he himself just imagined but would have no idea how to make, or something along those lines, if I recall correctly :)

That sounds great!

I don't know About Rowling and the Food in Harry Potter, but I guess she made that herself or at least was involved in it.
