I suppose you're right, now I think of it. The only times I've seen deer were when they're stationary and eating or that one time when we almost hit one so I wasn't paying attention to their gracefulness but I do think they were now that I think back on it.

If we drive to the forest area near our home we sometimes seem deer if we are lucky.
I'm sure the heron is okay, he probably found a better food source or something
Hey, loving this new Spring Event!! Woohoo!!

The best way I've found to observe deer is from horseback. They'll usually let you come pretty close before they run away, but even when they do, they don't seem like they're fleeing in panic. I think they don't notice you as much because they see and smell the horse and they're not afraid of that.

Deer are lovely :) But you are right Chrizine, usually they are quite shy and afraid. I can imagine that they are more friendly while doing horseback :)

Blacklisted, I like your avi!
Chrizine, I have never ridden a horse before but I am surprised deer are not scared of them since horses are so much bigger - but I guess they know intuitively that the horse will not hurt them or try to eat them.

Thank you blacklisted :) I made the avi as an entry for a contest in the Beneficience charity thread :)
I guess they probably can just smell that horses are not predator animals, so why should they be afraid of them? It's not like there's any hunting done from horseback these days that could teach them to be afraid of them.
