Whoa, I'm in BC, too. I don't get the heron problems, though. We get geese. We're probably gonna get them soon. They come every spring and they're so mean. They didn't build their nest on top of the playhouse in the backyard of our neighbour behind our house so I'm hoping they won't this year, too. They kept building their nest there and the playhouse is like, right at the corner of their backyard where four backyards meet, so when they're ready to leave, the goslings end up in four different backyards and they can't fly yet so there's always a big racket over the goslings getting separated.

We get eagles, raccoons, skunks, hawks, falcons...I think that's about it.

These are kinda grown-ups problems to me :qhehe: I am an adult myself, but never had to deal with anything like that. I guess that living in a city also entails not having these around.

I am so happy you found your cat again, DC!

Casinos for children can be fun xD

I live near small amounts of woods. Before we lost my grandfather's house I used to live near a big wooded area and if you were lucky you saw deer. However, I never go to see one. It was a bummer.

Oh, cool! I'm in Maple Ridge. As far as I know, it's just one heron that keeps coming to our yard but I haven't seen him for about a month now. I see geese flying around here a lot but haven't had any up close. I have heard they can be pretty scary! LoL.

Yeah, the first year we moved here, I was walking to the bus stop and passed by one of the geese. He was fine with me walking towards him but as soon as I passed him he started hissing at me and running at me with his wings spread out. I didn't even think. I spun right around and hissed right back at him. And then I started carrying my umbrella every day in case he got another idea. The part that gets me, though, I was walking AWAY from his nest. Like, I'm going the OPPOSITE direction if I were going to eat you OR your eggs. Leave me alone, man!

We also think it's the same geese couple or at least their children that keeps coming back. We live right below a pretty big park with a lake in it so we guess they hatch their eggs here and then take their young to the lake in the park.

I hope the heron's okay and just found another yard to haunt.

I've seen a few deer. Once, we saw a buck launch itself onto the street in front of our bus. That was scary. The buck and the cars on the road all survived the encounter, thankfully.

It's really impressive, they are quite gracile :)
