I've never heard of Mo Hayder, I'll definitely have to look them up the next time I stop at B&N. You've got to love a book with twists that make it un-put-downable.
"Girl who played with fire"? That title sounds familiar to me... Oh! But as for the McMahone books I would start with "Promise Not to Tell" and move into "Dismantled" and "Island of Lost Girls". All are really gripping crime/mysteries.
