I think I've seen them sold in discounters for not too expensive some time ago. So I guess there's people who own them? I think it would be mostly a waste of space actually, since it's an item most people would rarely use... Or maybe they do laminate tons of stuff, what do I know :D

Most people I know laminate their stuff at work.
The BF laminate stuff for underwater use and I've had bad memories of laminating stuff for work for days so I avoid using that if I can.

I usually pin my tickets on the board I put on my wall specifically for that purpose.

@Poshi: Hakone and Kamakura don't count as trips in my books XD I've been to Hakone once this year and to Kamakura, I don't know, at least 5 times or more. That's where we're giving our wedding ceremony XD
I've been to Okinawa twice, to Hokkaido, to a few prefectures in the Hokuriku area and to my home country of France.

They are an object of the past. I don't really see many people with laminated goods. I guess restaurant menus and artists will laminate their products. It's probably something a business would own.

I guess I don't have enough souvenirs to get an entire board for them, plus I actually don't keep brochures. Mostly just tickets of all variety.

Next time I'm in Japan I will definitely visit those places too. I'm very confused as to how people get to Okinawa. By plane right?

Well, actually, everywhere I don't stay the night doesn't count as a trip.

There was a festival this winter, next time was to see the plum trees, then the hydrangeas, then two appointments for the wedding.

Yep, Okinawa is accessed by plane but some people, especially those who move there, also take the ferry. Unfortunately the ferry happens to be pricier and not as a fast as a plane so not many people take it.

I've never heard of Mo Hayder, I'll definitely have to look them up the next time I stop at B&N. You've got to love a book with twists that make it un-put-downable.

"Girl who played with fire"? That title sounds familiar to me... Oh! But as for the McMahone books I would start with "Promise Not to Tell" and move into "Dismantled" and "Island of Lost Girls". All are really gripping crime/mysteries.

It's a really popular series that was made into a movie. I remember everyone in high school was reading it (so that was about 8 years ago haha).

I've been reading TVC for so long I really can't remember the earlier books I've read ;3; I read the vampire lestat and interview with a vampire a long time ago but I gobbled the tale of the body thief and memnoch the devil recently. I actually really enjoyed memnoch the devil. I think the one I found most dull was Interview with a Vampire and hmmm, Queen of the damned wasn't so exciting tbh although it was fun meeting the ancients. I kind of read them out of order for a while back when I didn't have the money to buy books. I haven't read the newer ones like Blackwood Farm and Blood canticle (the ones from where Lestat goes to sleep). I'm only in it for him <3

I stayed at Hakone over night actually but not kamakura :3 We stayed at Hotel Okada and walked into an elevator where people had black face on. It was awkward.

Oh lovely! Japanese gardens are so beautiful ;3; I wish I could've seen the cherry blossoms too but we were there for autumn leaves.

Eh, I would definitely get sea sick so planes do sound cheaper, faster, better and less puking.

Autumn leaves are really beautiful too, maybe even more than cherry blossoms, or at least I like them more.

Aha, we've been going out for more than two years and living together for more or less two years as well. Which means that actually by Japanese standards we were basically married and are late to make it official.

I get sea sick too. And I'm doing diving. Taking (and finding) medication changed my life.

We don't have cherry blossoms here so I'm not too sure what they look like. It'll be nice to experience that. The leaves on my uni walkway always turn a nice red and orange in autumn :3

I take motion sickness tablets as well before a bus/car ride. I mostly get ill on coaches but not really open buses and car sickness depending on the driver. I need someone that doesn't turn so abruptly or brake hard. I often forget to take the medicine 30mins prior to the ride though :c

When I saw cherry blossoms elsewhere it was always just a single tree, in Japan it's entire roadsides of trees all blooming, it's beautiful.

Aha thank you! I'm not crazy enough to marry someone I just met. It wouldn't even be strange though since Japanese people can sometimes get married within 6 months.
It's crazy expensive and we're not even going full out since usually you'd be supposed to give at least 2, sometimes 3 parties, with a crazy number of people. We're going with only 20 and are not going to give out any presents, are going to throw "only" 2 parties (one where everyone is supposed to pay their own share too).
The good thing is that the planning is easy as hell.

Strangely enough I don't get motion sickess on bus and car rides, only on boats. Which might be the most annoying. But if I don't drink it I'm not going to have any fun so I almost never forget.

Getting married within 6 months is very rare here. Some of friends were engaged by 1.5 - 2 years which most people thought weren't long enough. On average, a lot of people date for 5+ years before they even get engaged.

That's way too many parties. You'll get so exhausted. Usually people do ceremony in the day and reception at night all on the same day. Are you having any ceremony back in France as well or are your family members flying out to Japan? I'm surprised planning is easy. I suppose your wedding is small which is nice. I hear guest lists and seating for hundreds of guests is a nightmare.

My motion sickness is very selective even in busses and cars and there have been some boat rides where I felt fine.
