All she needed to do really was choose a different method for the second one and it would have been fine XD also if the character had more than a brief emotional response, she was basically like "oh no I killed someone... oh well whoops"
Now people are having full, nuanced conversations including murmuring and whispering whilst riding on the back of motorcycles and this whole book is driving me insane haha.
I don't feel bad because she should have tried harder. And her editor and publisher are also responsible for this. Things could have been made a lot better before going to publishing with a very simple read through. Obviously no one who ever had anything to do with making this book has had any of the experiences in it because if you have, you can immediately spot how far off the mark they are.

yea, whispering on a moving motorcycle won't get you anywhere XD
I haven't killed anyone as far as I know, so can't really comment on that, lol
I just guess there should be internal consequences. at least I would totally make my character overthink it, if the word overthink is at all appropriate in the context of a murder. have dreams, have visions during some moments that could trigger a memory. stuff like that

It sounds so hilariously bad that I am getting more and more tempted to read it!

looks like you already know too much about it for your habitual reading process XD
@jacobgrey: here's another YA novel! Minecraft: The Island by Max Brooks

lol, that's true!
I started reading Breaking Dawn (the last Twilight book). I'm not enjoying it, but I'm determined to finish the series lol.

what's your motivation to finish the series if you don't like it?

I'm not really sure actually! I usually finish books/series that I start though, even if I'm not enjoying it!

I'm fairly similar with wanting to finish things. Also I have this thing that I shouldn't really say something is bad if I haven't experienced it fully. To be fair, in the next part of the book the author might reveal that everything was set up deliberately to make her think she killed people, and they have new technology that makes motorbikes silent, and I'll look like an idiot XD
Max Brooks, off the top of my head, didn't he write one of the popular zombie books? I know I could Google it but it feels more fun to try and half-remember haha.

I have no idea who he is, to be honest. I'm just curious about books related to gaming, whether they're set in a game or are playing with the concept of gamification. one of my goodreads friends added it and I saw it on my dash.
I do finish books that I don't like but not the whole series. I finished Wicked Lovely and disliked it intensely and I'm not going to read on. aaaand I'm not interested in anything else by this author. unless I encounter some reviews or recommendations that will show me how different another work is from this book.
I finished Nightblade and Mystic by Garret Robinson and they were ok but I don't care about the rest of series and the rest of the books set in this world. even though it may get significantly better. I just don't care, there are too many books that are more promising.
I read the Last Dragon Slayer and it might be the weakest book ever written so I won't be reading on even though the series might get better, simply as the author is learning the craft. in fact, it was the very book I wanted to give up on but it was given to me for a review so I felt obliged to finish. didn't felt like writing a review, though XD
