Let me recap and add some more hints:

1. She's from a manga that got also an anime of 26 episodes by Gainax.
2. She has an hidden side that she's extremely dedicated to keep secret to everyone else.
3. it's a shoujo/school/slice of life type of story, no paranormal elements at all.
4. it's pretty old, it was originally was serialized in LaLa from 1996 to 2005 and collected in 21 tankōbon volumes by Hakusensha.
5. The story depicts the romance between our mystery girl, a "perfect" student that everyone look for, and her academic rival, a perfect guy that after discovering her hidden side start to reveal his own.

(more clues will come if needed, at 10 I'll just reveal who she is XD)
