We used to have dog the last years, it died a few weeks ago... I always catch my self when the bell rings I am waiting for it to start barking

I think that learning Spanish has helped me understand what's necessary to learn for a foreign language, plus English and German are very similar to me!

Yup. There are actually some similarities between German and English ^^ but also some false friends xD I hated it so much when my teacher always mentioned them, they were nearly never a problem for me
