its not about prettiness per se, just that I can't cosplay skinny characters for example, or characters that don't wear glasses since I can't handle lenses ;'c

Yeah, Pyro from TF2! I still want to cosplay them, but they're hard to pull off in terms of materials and I'd much rather start with an easy one where I just need to buy a costume etc haha
