Although I remember my dreams, I don't write it down... unless it could really become a proper story.

what sucks though is when you first wake up and you go "omg, that was amazing! I should write this down!" but then you get some paper to write it down and it just leaves you.

Nan! I saw your "trash can" thread through your sig! you've got some super cute art in there :mcglee:
also, I may have an idea of something to request, but I spent food on knuffels :mcheh: :mcsweat: so I'm down to 16k with food points :mcsweat:
I might end up changing my mind again though too, since that keeps happening a lot with when I think of what to request :mcheh: :mcheh:

also random rattie stuff, Meadow has been SUPER sweet lately! like I think she's learning from her two little sisters on some social stuff, since Meadow was with two older rats before I got the younger two. but she'll come up to the cage door now if I say her name and look super excited to be pet or picked up. (she still bites occasionally, but I think it's mainly when she's in heat or if I startled her while she's sleeping. or with cage cleaning, she gets really grumpy with cage cleaning time) ~also Meadow will be two in November! it's crazy!
and turns out Reji is a jumper, she found a way onto the top of my hanging shirts in the rat room and even climbs up to the shelves above the clothes, Seulbi tried copying her and got half-way, and Seulbi's been super sweet, she gives a bunch of kisses.
Ohh, I LOVE rats! I have had 8 rats over the years and they make the most amazing pets - I can't wait to get more once we have settled in the new place. :mcheh:

aren't they just? :mcglee:
also I love how differing all their personalities are, I feel like they're more like owning cats or dogs over other types of rodents.
did you mainly have boys or girls? (I've heard different things about having boys, that they can be more cuddly but also more territorial, but my girls have always been pretty cuddly and also super active)
I've had 5 girls in all, but only 3 at a time.

(aw man... I was gonna post my rat folder from my photobucket, but the page doesn't seem to be loading :mcgasp: )

Yes, they are all very different and unique little creatures. I have had primarily girls, with one pair of boys over the years. The boys were definitely lazier and less clean, but also big squishes that loved to be cuddled. Girls for sure always more active and crazy - boys just want to chill. :mclaugh: :mclaugh:

Nan: I almost forgot to answer where I put my rats with cleaning time! :mcheh:
a lot of the times, since they don't like being in the carrier I got for them, I just leave them in the cage, since the cage is really big. it's a double unit so there's a top and bottom connected with a ramp, so I'll usually clean whichever end they're not on first, then move them to the top/bottom when I finish that half. (sometimes I give them treats to keep Meadow from biting me)
but sometimes Seulbi likes trying to 'help' when I put up clean hammocks (she'll put her nose by the loops that hold the hammock) or she just climbs on top of the cage.

Nikki: gotta ask, do you have any tips for bar biting? Reji does it all the time for attention, even if I just had them all out, and she doesn't stop unless I pick her up. I saw on a rat forum that someone said to ignore it, but I tried that and she kept it up. (unless it's just something that she'll grow out of when she's bigger and can no longer get her mouth around the bars as well)

For bar biting I'd say add more toys and hard things for her to chew on. Lots of distractions could help. Try hanging chew toys from the top of the cage so she has to reach for them and grab them. Beyond that, it could just be a habit if more toys/chew toys/hard foods don't help. :mcheh:

I do need to get them more toys, I ended up having to throw the last bits of their toys away, someone keeps throwing their toys (and even beds at times) into their poop box. (I've got them semi-litter trained, they mostly poop in these small kitten-sized litter boxes with aspen in them, they pee everywhere else though in the cage :mcheh: :mcsweat: ) but they'll put their toys in, and they end up smelling crazy bad :\ they do have a hanging toy though, but they quickly lost interest in it, so it's more of a decoration now lol
and Reji seems to take getting treats from bar biting as if it's.. promoting the habit. I may keep picking her up when it happens, maybe give them more of this brown packing paper stuff that they really like using for nesting material.

Yep, they do love to bury their poop in their best bedding and toys - I've seen that a lot before. LoL. Some of their stuffed toys (if they have any small ones) can be washed with other bedding and hammocks etc. I used to make toilet paper tubes filled with treats, wrapped in wrapping paper so the treats don't fall out, and hang those from the top. They take forever ripping them open to get the treats and have tons of fun :mchappy: :mchappy:
