It is a serious relief to me to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Now it's just a matter of figuring out where it is that is counting as posts for gaining donuts but not for post count purposes.

I'm not sure that it's anything to do with posts not registering on the post count-- I'm definitely making one post and getting 2 - 4 donuts for it. I can guarantee it happened at least once in the Avatar and Knuffel forum. I was watching my total, so I saw it happen.

I wonder if the normal mechanic of occasional donut rewards for posts when the caravan isn't here is not actually being overwritten? Instead, maybe, added to?

Okay, I bet we could find out by comparing the average rate of the EXTRA donuts during the time of the caravan and seeing if it is the same as the average rate of donuts during the time without the caravan.
If they're identical that would probably be a good indicator, right?

Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking too. One of the common rewards during the rest of the month is 3 donuts, so that would explain how I got 4 donuts at once: 1 for the post, and 3 from the other donut event.

I think that's a pretty good way of figuring out if we're right. I can't see any reason the rate would change if it's just still going on in the background, so it would make sense for them to be identical if that's what's happening.

Lately I've been only posting in avatar & knuffel and hangouts. I think I noticed it twice in avatar talk.

Hmm...
I haven't posted in the avatar forum lately, but it's something worth checking, isn't it?

I've only ever paid attention to the large announcement when I post, not the donut count, so I've not spotted that phenomenon before.
Now I'm going to start paying attention!

I made a few posts in the avatar subforum, but I did not notice any double-donut thing :|

I've definitely gone up already more donuts than could be accounted for with posts, but I didn't notice at the time it occurred -but that's for sure the direction it's happening in.
