I was wondering if when my Knuffel wants to level up when I am not around - would clicks still count towards his experience points

Yes, people that click on your knuffel still gives them exp. When you come back and they have leveled at least once, you then automatically choose the element you want for the digging aspect. I haven't done it yet for 2+ levels gained, but I'm assuming it just redoes the screen for each level up it goes while you're away.

No, because this would probably lead to a few rich people buying tons of the same Knuffel just to sell them later for profit, which would lessen the chance for other people to get Knuffel for a normal price.

I would probably not manage to buy my Knuffels if it was possible cause they will all be gone by now ;)
