@Nan: Aha, there's actually a plot, but it's kinda loose. Usually there's an official event (one is going on now, but I'm not sure what it is) that pulls all RPers together, but we also do small RPs among ourselves.

Well yea your RP has a plot, but I meant in others lol I remember I RP-ed with this person once, and we really were spontaneous with it. Literally. No plan.

Yeah, I've done a couple of those before. They were fun, but I generally like having an end-goal to my RPs, even if the story gets sidetracked or the goal is ever met. It's just nice having a direction to move towards. (I don't consider romance being the end goal of my RPs, so I try to think of alternate drives to the story.)

There are some people who are skilled enough to work a story into an RP that started off with minimal or no plot, but I agree that there's often a quality boost when there is an actual goal to focus on.

For pacing, I think script/chat-based RPs are fastest. They can be fun to do, but I still prefer writing full paragraphs. XD
