For me it does depend. I spent a lot of time on my long-term deadline because I knew it was going to take a lot of 30+ hours, even though an essay of mine would have to be due one week sooner. So for me it depends. xD

Nah, it was the same for me when I was at university. I still worked on the earliest deadline first. Because you can get that out of the way and move back to your other project, and it gives you a bit of a refresher so that you aren't just staring at that one long-term thing the whole time. And if you take longer than expected on the bigger project, then boom, you miss the earlier deadline.

So far that would never happen to me. I'd never miss a deadline. :qt:

I do am glad I got one essay off my chest. We handed that over to the 'designers' of our team because it suits them better (the essay is rather tailored towards design and it's a group assignment). Now I can spend my last 10 hours fully on this assignment before Sunday night. You'd think that's more than 10 hours, but considering it's the type of assignment I cannot do for too many hours in a row and get reaaaally pissed off at doing it, I am actually still stressed I won't make it.

In the end I will because I always do SOMEHOW, but the fear is there.

I don't miss school deadlines. Somehow even though work deadlines are more serious, they don't feel as stressful XD

'More serious'? As in, because it affects more parties than just yourself? Because otherwise I find them mutually serious. :qt:

Well, they're definitely more serious haha. If I missed a school deadline I might get told off or drop a grade. If I miss a work deadline I lose my job, can't pay the mortgage, and lose my house XD

Oh, if you fail anything in my study you have to resit it the next year if I understand correctly, hence why I was somewhat confused. In my previous study you could try to redo it every semester, but you'd always have study delay, no one has ever finished that study within 4 years even though it is a 4-year study (especially because there are major disadvantages financially if you take more than 5 years).

It's of course not like getting fired, but I do find that fairly serious. xD

You have to screw up pretty bad to fail, though. Just being late on most courses takes you down a grade, but if you're running late you can normally rush out something that gets you at least the bare minimum pass, even if it's not your normal standard.

I guess you and I just went to very different studies. xD It's not hard to fail a class here, some things cannot be rushed. Essays, sure, but there's more to it than that.

It's probably just perspective :P I felt at the time like it was hard, but looking back, it was all pretty easy compared to actually working in the industry.
