Yeah, DnD is the shortened name. It's a role playing game. It's a whole lot of fun. Though it definitely takes up a lot of time.

I love just playing with items until I come up with something interesting. It's a lot of fun.

Yeah, most sessions last at least 3 hours. And if you're the Dungeon Master, you have to prepare all of the information. So for every hour of game play there's usually at least 3 hours of prep. My husband is our DM.

It can get loud when people play. They get excited. lol.

It's mostly imagination actually. lol.
Though it's kind of also like a board game. So sometimes the DM puts out maps and little figures to make visualizing battles easier.

Each person pretends to be a certain character. Each character has a few things that they're good at but most can try to do anything. You roll dice to determine if you pass or fail at doing stuff.

The DM plays everything else. They come up with the non player characters, and all the stories. DMing is a lot harder than just playing.

Yeah, so say I'm trying to convince someone that I'm not lying. I would roll a dice that has 20 sides. 20 is the best, you will without a doubt succeed, 1 is worst, you are going to fail. You roll and depending on how high you roll you will either convince them that you're being truthful or they'll know you're lying.

And you roll the 20 sided dice for most checks. If you can hit someone, if you can sneak without someone seeing you, if you can see traps, etc.

It's a lot of fun. It's easier to learn if you actually play, or at least watch someone play.

Yeah, they do have some adventures that are already made. Those are easier to do.

So ultimately about luck?

Yeah, luck plays a huge factor. But there are other things too. Depending on how well you roleplay your DM might go easy on you and let you fudge some rolls or something.
