Amazing! I fear I did turn on my laptop every day even up to this day, hehe. That was a Christmas Miracle indeed. :qt:

Yeah, it was a great day anyway and my grandma didn't make as much as she normally does, so she did take it into account. Christmas overall was nice.

But now new year is already upcoming because I didn't check the forums. :qt: Wups. I'm stuffing myself with food right now, waiting for midnight to happen.

There's still a good long while for us XD 7 hours to midnight as I write this. Preparations are going on downstairs right now. I'm excused from taking part because I skipped a load of work yesterday to play board games with everyone XD

I really should have done more work so far, buuuut it's Christmas. (at least, I refer to this whole period as "Christmas" until the 2nd January hahaha). And I got enough money as presents to have one full day off so that's pretty good,

Haha, that's nice. I am glad I am never told to do anything with any celebration whenever my mother is around as well. She'll take care of snacks and food. That's the good stuff I guess.

I agree on that one. The period of December 25 to January 2 is just weird anyway, and it doesn't help my mother has a birthday on January 2 either. Money as present is always good.

Also, happy new year!

Happy new year :)

I'm back home now... I have to do everything for myself again :mccry: I wanted to stay longer but my boyfriend had to come back for work. He was supposed to have this week booked off but his evil new boss decided that he wasn't allowed to take time off in January, and his useless old boss also lost the paperwork for the time off so there's no proof it was pre-approved.

Awwww bummer.

That's really nasty though. Also creates a nice impression of this new boss already. It just really sucks that the both of you are affected by this as well. Hope you can still make the best of your days.

Yeah, well, she's also trying to fire him or demote him to a different branch, so I don't know if she's decided to stop his holidays in order to force him to quit. I can't tell whether he's that bad at his job or she has some other agenda, like trying to get someone she likes into the role. I'm stressed out about it because I can't really do anything to control it, I mean I can tell him what he should do but I can't go and do it for him. Needless to say he is looking for jobs elsewhere already. I just hope he finds one before he gets demoted, because that's going to look awful on his CV.

This is why I hate working with other humans. They always get in the way. At least with my work, if a client doesn't like me or what I do then we never have to work together again and it doesn't matter because I have others to fill the gap.

Oh gees. That sounds like a messy situation to be in. I can imagine this stresses you, but so far he's picking up quite well since he's already looking elsewhere. I fear there's no control over the demoting situation though, let's just hope for the best... it's a bit of a race I guess, what comes first. New job, or getting fired/demoted. All I can say is I wish him the best of luck with the whole thing.

I totally get that. Sadly I'll be in a business where you'll always have to work with a team. :qt: I should probably grow a backbone soon.

He was supposed to have an interview yesterday in a place an hour away. We both got all dressed up because I was going to go along and then wander around the shops while he was having the interview, for morale support. Of course we were literally going out of the door when the guy emailed to reschedule -__- I'm starting to feel more confident that he will be alright because he has really stepped up his game in response to all this. Maybe he will end up getting a higher position in his next job as the interview is for one step up. Then this will all have been a blessing in disguise.

Hopefully you get a nice team. Then you'll be able to grow your backbone comfortably :)

Oh gees. As annoying as that is, luckily it wasn't a cancellation, heh. But hey, looks like things are getting more positive (at least it seems like you're able to shine some more light on the situation). I'll probably keep hearing about the progress of this little 'adventure,' heh. Did the rescheduled interview take place by now?

We'll see about that, haha.

It did! He thinks it went well. The guy was talking about how he could come in as an assistant manager but with a definite view to giving him his own store in the next year or so. Which is really positive (if he gets the job of course).

The boss woman has started being even more evil. She also tried to stop him having a day of holiday in February when my cousin is getting married. After she told him it would be fine so we RSVP'd yes, but then it turned out she hadn't signed off the paperwork. He says it looks like he will get it off because she has approved all holidays except his which starts to make it look like she's being a bit prejudiced to him. Also she apparently can't work late shifts because she lives too far away, even though he lives literally double the distance from the store that she does. And she also took a day off the other day "because it was snowing too much" - we literally got about 1cm of snow and it was gone in half a day, and the roads were clear in about half an hour without grit. She seems pretty pathetic to me.
