I don't think I was around for the last NPC design contest (that or I completely overlooked it) and I deff plan on entering this one!

As with every contest, a quick reminder is necessary:
PLEASE read the contest's conditions carefully! It would be such a pity if any more people spent time on an entry just to have it denied because they did not read the first post carefully! So far I had one half-body submission and two submissions where the character was only shown from the side (Why, people? WHY? You can't see the character's design if you only show half of it!), so please - there aren't many conditions - make sure you pay attention to the few ones.

What are the conditions?

- Your submitted design must be 100% made by you.
- Your submitted design must be at least 500 pixel high in size.
- Your submitted design must be colored.
- Your submission must show the character in full body view with all details clearly visible.
- Your submission must show the character from the front (you can add additional side- and back-view images)
- All media are allowed, no matter whether computer coloring, pencils, watercolor, etc. However, for this contest, pixel art is excluded.
- By submitting your design, you give KOfK full right to use it.
- Your NPC can be human, humanoid, anthro, old, young, etc. - whatever floats your boat.

I think this contest is the bee's kneesss.... I already submitted my design.
Though i have a quick question. Ive been a member of KofK for a very long time and i've seen my share of awesome contests and entries. I've always wanted to suggest this but never had the time to or i've forgotten.
Could it be possible to have a feature when we vote to possibly be able to zoom in. I know you may have to re-size things to fit on that screen but some of us artist work large to get more details in.
I remember a couple years ago for the Nympharia contest there was one entry i wished we could zoom in and see details. :)
{If a person so chooses and if the entry is large enough that you can Zoom into it}
A bit like what DeviantArt does when someone submits an piece.
Just an idea i wanted to bring up. Since you only have a minimum size not a maximum i thought it was worth mentioning.

Starkad would have to re-code the voting area for a zoom feature and I don't think he will find the time to do this for this contest, but maybe for the future.

Bringing this to people's attention again:

What are the conditions?

I am not sure whether people really put time and effort into a drawing and just don't bother to read the contest's conditions before, or whether maybe my explanations aren't good enough, so I will try to explain the rules people seem to have problems with again:
- Your submission must show the character in full body view with all details clearly visible.
- Your submission must show the character from the front (you can add additional side- and back-view images)
This is a contest where the task is to design a character. In order to do so, you must present your character in a way where all details are visible as good as possible. You aren't supposed to come up with an awesome drawing with some kind of unique pose. Obviously you must show all of the character. If you just make a half-body drawing, we only see half of the design. If we have to make up what the rest of the character looks like on our own, then you haven't really submitted a character's design, you just submitted half of it.
The same goes for characters not facing forward. This is a character shown from the front:
Image
It doesn't mean that you should not submit a character drawn from the back (though a good character design might also include additional back or even side views. But that was no requirement for this contest), but it means all of the body of the character has to face forward. We want to see the FRONT of the character, all of it. Your character should not face to the side, it should not look to the side, it should not have its body twisted in the middle so only part of it is facing forward, but all of it is supposed to face forward, so we can see all of the front.

I am so sorry for those of you who have submitted entries that did not meet this requirements so far. I seem to suck at explaining, though somehow I had assumed that people would understand that you need to show the full front of a character for a character design contest and it never crossed my mind that people would even try to submit entries that showed the character in any way where the front wasn't fully visible. Of course you can add fancy poses, backviews, side views, headshots and all that stuff to your submission. That's even better. But there must be at least ONE full front view included!

There is no rule regarding this, though I'd prefer the voting to be anyonymous.
