It depends on the series, but usually I prefer to read the manga.

I seem to read more manga than watch anime lately, but I like both. Manga tends to go into more detail and have a better story and characterization, anime has an advantage of having cool stuff like soundtracks, seiyuu's acting performances and an actual animation and therefore more dynamics to dramatic and action scenes. Also, each medium gives a different experience, and they well complement each other, so it would be a shame to pick just one and discard the other.

Both!

And I would rather subbed then dubbed.

Ideally, anime, because there's more impact, visual animation, and I'm also a sucker for voice acting, but it's just such an extreme drag for me to torrent episodes, and I'm too lazy to watch on the computer. I prefer buying burnt fansubs on DVD then watching on TV, but specialty shops that sell those aren't common anymore. Also, there are so many anime series that turn away from the manga and make up a really stupid plot hole-ridden ending, and it irks me. Others just cut off, which is better, but I'd rather know how the story goes now than wait for a season 2 that might not happen. So nowadays, I find myself reading manga more often (especially for Tokyo Ghoul. I can't stand the anime for Tokyo Ghoul >_>). It's also more convenient, as I can read on my mom's netbook while multitasking instead of sitting in front of the PC.

I honestly like both for different reasons. I can speed-read manga, and it's generally the medium that most series start in, so it obviously wouldn't have any content cut out of it.

But on the flip side, I can just play an episode of an anime in the background and do something else while I can't really do that with manga.

I have no direct preference. I like both simply because a lot of animes end, but are "extended" buy the manga. The most obvious example I can think of is Ouran High School Host Club.

I read a lot of manga and prefer it over anime, yet I would not want to give up watching animes as well.

I used to read lots and lots of manga and never watch anime, but now the proportions are reversed. I think it's because anime is a more passive experience, and these days I have little time and energy to put into my entertainment. It's also easier to get more of an anime (legally) at once, like buying a box set or it all being on Crunchyroll, whereas with manga you have to get one book at a time.
