Well I hate to break it to you, but that feeling is lack of closure. You're not getting any closure unless you pull yourself together and tell him "Look, I have feelings for you and I got sad when you started talking about another girl so I pulled away from you, there you go, enjoy."

Even if you have to write him an e-mail, or text it, or write a letter and send it, even IF you really can't tell him face-to-face, you owe yourself the honesty of what you're feeling.
