You can always go looking for some and try to attract them:
Wait until the summer months, like late May to late July and
to increase your chances of seeing fireflies, head out to a dark, damp area
near water, like a meadow or forest edge, on a warm, humid summer evening,
and turn off any artificial lights.

Near Water: Fireflies are often found near ponds, streams, marshes, rivers, and lakes.

Open Fields and Forest Edges: They also frequent open fields and forest edges.
Long Grass: They tend to be attracted to areas with long grass.
Low-hanging Trees: You might also find them under low-hanging trees.
Avoid Light Pollution: Choose a location that is as dark as possible, away from bright city lights.

Humm. I wonder if I can ask my aunt if she knows where to find some firefly spots here in this country lol. I would hope that such a warm humid country like Hong Kong would have them lol.

(Also, fireflies are incredibly delicate and require a clean environment. Since we have them in Tokyo I'd think you can also find them in Hong Kong just not in the middle of the city unless there's a park or somewhere that works on conservation and provide the needed environment)
(Tokyo has a hotel that does "fireflies night", they do work on their garden so it attracts and keep fireflies and then sell the experience along a buffet in their restaurant. It's not even that much more expensive than a similar buffet in other places. It's also SO pretty.)
