yea it will be harder to come up with unique items and get anything made into a wearable item. And if Firn wants to do a birthstone series, while I go on with my minerals it will be harder for her to avoid copying too.

yeah, I'm not going to give up, it's just becoming more challenging for both. hopefully not too much because as far as I see Firn is basing her design on just a cut look of the stone and not concidering things like usage in science and spiritualism. peridot is also not concidered mineral species. it's a variety of fosterite which is concidered mineral species. (much like ruby is a variety of corundum, not a separate species.) but it's (fosterite) also got polymorps, so I don't think I will base a knuffel of it. I don't know, to be honest. as long as Firn does cut gems (if she is indeed going to make a collection), we should not be crossing each other's way too much, at least we'll have different themes, so I'll jut have to avoid too similar designs. but in general it's a tricky-tricky thing
