Is there a specific one I should buy? Or is it just whatever one you prefer?

Whatever one you prefer. I usually try to have one of each elements since it makes it easier to get materials of that particular elements but to get you started, whichever one you like best is perfect :)

It's because I slant inwards, I'm flat footed and I have bunions.

Haven't tried Nikes ever. But I do find New Balance really comfortable. When I first saw the price tag I was scared but I think it was all worth it if only for the comfort.
Because honestly, it seems that they're not going to last much longer than my previous cheap ones. (But then again, I never worked 12 hours shifts of restaurant work in my previosu cheap ones ^^)

I bought the earth trial Knuffel and named it Stevie!

I've own some new balances and they're fairly comfortable provided I have an insole insert :( Nikes and adidas shoes double as fashionable too which I really like. I've never had shoes wear out too quickly. They get dirty more than anything.
