This time of year is brutal.

I went thrift shopping today with a couple other people from the peer support group. I spent about $21, and came away with a few cute mid-calf length skirts, a cute grey wool-like (may very well be wool) knee-length skirt, a couple of men's shirts that I'll be altering to fit me better, a pair of faux pearl earrings (nothing too flashy, but still pretty), a couple of scarves, a hippo plushie that's supposed to sing and dance when its hand is pressed, a big, heavy roll of houndstooth fabric that I plan on making at least one skirt out of, a couple of paper patterns that I plan on modifying to fit me, and a pair of battery-operated candelabras that are very spooky and made of metal. My future roommate down in Ocala, Florida, approves.

Yeah. One of my D&D buddies. She's wanting to move out of her mom's house, and having a housemate helps with bills and rent, and I need someplace warm to move to, and Florida is a lot cheaper than California, and we both want to get her girlfriend out of the crappy living situation *she* is in, so she can start feeling better, and there's more job opportunities in that part of Florida than there are here.

And this way, when I do something that the one gal says she's gonna kill me for in the D&D game I DM, she can just come across the room and bap me, or throw giant foam dice at me.

*LMBO at the bap part*

Ahhh, you hadn't mentioned that before. Watch out for the giant Florida mosquitos. They're not quite as scary as the giant California fires. (was that an okay joke?)

My favourite BJD artist is in Florida.

(are you going to need to rehome dolls? )

I don't think I'm going to need to rehome dollkids. I'm going to find a way to get all of them down there with me.

I need to sort out books, fabric, clothes, shoes, and other stuff.

ETA: I learned that there's an actual word for "brain-vacuum" in Japanese! Boketto!

Whoo. I'm relieved. :D Youcandoit! Just... don't nearly have a heart attack when you look at the boxes of dolls and realize how many there are. I did that. (though, remember, a few of those are supposed to come here. LOL *stops to think if I have anymore to send you*)

I never mentioned that? Miss Ella, who made my Flora the cat doll, talked about that in one of her newsletters, and I chattered about it. XD I wonder if that should be old Hero Lumen's nickname.

Honestly, it's not the dollkids that have me going nutty, it's my clothes and shoes. I'm looking forward to getting more shelves and stuff to house the TFs and dollkids once I get moved.

but clothes and shoes? I have ALWAYS had a hard time letting go of those. even stuff I haven't worn since high school, freshman year. that no longer fits. that I never even want to wear anymore because of trauma memories. or because I physically can't wear the item(s) for more than a few minutes without being in pain (Looking at you high heels).

No, you never brought it up! I think it's a good nickname for ANY Lumen. lol

Awwwwww. *sympathy* I just recently found out that I still fit the sandwashed silk blouse that I bought myself when I was sixteen, and I wish I still had the leather front vest that I bought to go with it (because that was the style the year I bought them, and they were the first stylish things I bought myself).

Also, I have to get my butt in gear and put the TFs on their shelf. The other shelves on that unit are all habited now, but the TF shelf holds only bittyBee, Logan, Optimus, L and O's babies, and Arcee and bitty Blackout. The other TFs are still languishing in a drawer.

Wow. With the way I yap when I learn something new, I'm shocked at my inefficiency.

Lumen: Wait, what?
Mira: :p

speaking of clothes... I got a 100% merino wool skirt on Monday while thrift shopping... was SO pleased because it's a great quality skirt... but there's no way in hell I'll ever fit into it. so mad at myself, but we only had 45 minutes per store, and that wasn't enough time to shop, AND try stuff on.

ETA: Facebook reminded me that 10 years ago, we lost Cody-doggo. here's one of my favorite pics of him and me

Awwww. Maybe use it to make someone?

Which reminds me. I have an antique composition doll now. Ten bucks at a vintage sale. ...Did I already babble about that?

I remember that picture! :D

tpCodyJr: *KISSIES for Den!*
