I have a dress that I can wear with and without petticoat as well - it's kind of a vintage style. Without petticoat it looks like a pretty regular summer dress with polka dots. With petticoat it does turn some heads - I wore it to town just for some shopping this summer and an old lady stopped me to tell me I looked pretty and reminded her of her youth :) That was so lovely!

I have a few vintage dresses as well and yeap older women love it, my grandmother really liked it too cause it also reminded her of the old days. I had a moment on a train wearing lolita but toned down and an elderly couple were talking about how nice and refreshing it was to see the style coming back c:

I'm really into #aesthethic, so yes I try to balance colours and make an effort in my outfits both online and irl :'D
lolita is a perfect style for that as coordinating an outfit is a big part of it ~
for little girls its definitely 'the pinker the better' haha

yea and aesthetic doesn't always give you the most confidence. sometimes it's jeans and whatever helps you blend in

Imo its just another part of discovering and inventing yourself, finding your confidence goes for more than clothes :P
but finding the kind of outfits that make you feel the best are really important imo ~
for some that's dressing to the nines and others prefer joggings and sweaters, s'all good
