Honestly, if I could hack cold better, I'd emigrate.

As for Derrick, from what I understand, something to do with COVID.

We DO sell really good winter clothes around here.

Ahhh. Makes sense. I could just find that it was sudden. Angie's bummed too.

would they be able to stand up to Reynauld's-related pain?

I lost a friend to COVID earlier on, so this is just another hard blow.

Also, Facebook. *shakes fist at* Blocking someone from going through a MASSIVE album at their own pace?! For "going too fast"?! wtf.

yeah. I'm going through a collection of Victorian-Era patterns someone was nice enough to upload, and saving a bunch, and I get hit with "You're going too fast".

Incredibly so. But I'm getting through the albums for the relevant periods I'm interested in for the project I need patterns for.

I'm making a series of room boxes, at 1:24th scale (so, teeny tiny!) for the five main fashion eras during Queen Victoria's reign that my town had settlers/existed in. mid 1850s through 1901. so most of the Victorian Era. The fashion eras are as follows: Romantic/Hoop (1850s-1868), Early Bustle (1869-1875), Natural Form (1876-1882), Late Bustle (1883-1889), Belle Époque (1890-1901).

I've gotten to the point where I can very nearly tell you which era a dress is from just by the shape of the skirt. The ones I struggle with are Early and Late Bustle, because the only real differences is the amount of trim, and the size of the bustle.

I didn't know them by name, but I had about the same ease/difficulty in telling things apart. Lady Perceptor was in London during the late bustle eara.

Scrappy pew beer!

Victorian-era fashions are one of my lifelines... as is steampunk... so I know the names and an approximation of dates off the top of my head... and the really only easy ones to tell are Romantic/Hoop, Natural Form, and Belle Époque, because of how distinct the silhouettes are. 1830s-1860s have similar silhouettes, just skirt length and sleeve shapes vary. before that is a whole different silhouette.

I stayed up way too late, ringing in ALL the timezones in the US and its territories.

Yeah, 1830s is the time of the megapoof sleeves, right?
