I was lazy with lunch today. A bowl of instant miso soup with soy sauce, pickled ginger, and a touch of roasted sesame dressing; a big salad drowning in a quick homemade vinaigrette; some leftover apple slices from last night; a couple of those rice crackers I love; and far too many cups of hojicha. We move again in a few days, so I'm trying to get rid of as much food in our pantry/fridge as I can.
Now I'm munching on a protein bar while trying to focus on applying to jobs.  Seeing as I'm posting on Kofk, you can see how successful I'm being....
My partner woke up sick today, so I'm debating either making a big hearty stir fry, or making a pot of chicken noodle soup for dinner.

They are called "snow rice crackers".
There's a bunch of different brands, but the ones I'm currently munching on are these:
I'm not sure if these are the ones from my childhood, or if it was this brand:
My friend never brought the whole bag to school with her, just the little mini packages, so I never got to see the branding.  Also, the last time I shared a school lunch with Angie was, god, 17 years ago. At the earliest!  The last time I actually remember eating them must have been closer to 20 years ago.  When did I get so old?...
Anyways, they're amazing! Crunchy and malty and salty with a hit of sweetness from...whatever that white drizzle is.
My partner HATES the smell them, so I have to eat them in another room. But that's true of a lot of food I like, so....he just has bad tastes.

Just a few crackers. The sign on the office door says "do not wear strong cologne/perfume". Nobody can read. Several people came in who clearly have not bathed with soap in several days. I have been sick with allergies and migraines for two days. I have no appetite.

I had conveyor belt sushi for the first time. Altho it’s improved from conveyor belts, now they run on track and they’re on little cars. Lol

I have found a place that carries snow crackers!
Sometimes. They are currently out of stock and will call me when they get more in.
But I didn't have a choice of brands, so we'll see....
Today I had a cilantro lentil soup with sundried tomato chunks in it, and some avocado rolled in lettuce leaves.
It was surprisingly tasty!
edit: New day. Today I had a simple tomato and basil quiche. The crust was not my best effort, but that's okay, I just ate the middle out from it and fed the crust to the geese; they're migrating through here right now. One of my neighbors calls it "the annual free fertilizer week", lol. Goose poop gets everywhere, but at least the garden flourishes, and the number of slugs goes down.

Nothing yet today, but there is a business luncheon I'm going to that's being catered by a local steakhouse. Last night, the hubster made philly cheese steak, but with chicken and some of my mom's homemade bread, and it was delicious.
I've otherwise been nibbling on crackers and oats, trying to get by through tax season.
