MRSA

MRSA is a Staph skin infection. It occurs when bacteria enters our skin through an opening such as a cut, scrape, burn, surgical opening, or wound. The bacteria causes serious infections that make us sick, and are sometimes fatal. MRSA can be passed anywhere that is crowded, where skin-to-skin contact occurs, from people with open cuts or other such injuries, contaminated items and surfaces, or wherever it is generally not clean.
MRSA can be treated with antibiotics such as Vancocin and Zyvox, and carriers can use mupinocin antibiotic cream to eliminate MRSA from mucous membrane colonization. A danger of MRSA is that patience sometimes stop taking their medication when they think they are cured. But it is still possible for the virus to reinfect them. Because of the low doses of antibiotics, the virus also grows immune to them, making it harder to cure, since only a select few antibiotics work in the first place. This new, immune virus was nicknamed VRSA, and though not widespread, it is feared to be the next 'superbug.'
