i think that a person should be able to have a tattoo if they wanted to (if its not too offensive)

anyway i would love to have a water colored style tattoo, they are absolutely gorgeous! :)

All my tattoos are done in Sharpie. So I can put something different there when I change my mind again a few days later. Heehee. The only one I seriously thought about getting was a never-ending infinity symbol around one of my fingers and maybe a heart in the middle of it. Small, simple, and probably will never get because I hear finger tattoos are very painful. And I don't like needles.

It doesn't bother me for others to have tattoos. Not a fan of blood, guts, or genitalia though. I think it's silly that normal tattoos are a turn-off to employers when they let their employees wear some really "loud" clothing and cologne/perfume to work.

I do like to make jokes, like the "remember ladies, a hummingbird on the back becomes a buzzard in the crack" one.

I don't know if anyone's posted this yet (skimmed through the thread but didn't thoroughly read every single reply) but anyone with tattoos should totally use this when people start listing off reasons not to get one. Especially if you're a woman. xD

I don't have a problem getting a job because I don't allow social stigma to dictate what I do or do not achieve :)

I have two tattoos. Both of them were done by my uncle, who is a professional tattoo artist. My first tattoo is a human heart. It is placed over my own heart at about the right size and I got it when I was 18. My second tattoo is of the kisses from Peter Pan (a thimble and an acorn) and is on my left shoulder. I got it at... er... 20 or 21.

Plans are in the works for a third tattoo. I want a Ponderosa Pine, probably on my right calf. But this is a new idea and it will be at least a year before I commit to it.

For myself, I believe in sitting on a tattoo for a long time. But other folks' bodies are their own and I really have nothing to say on the matter of what they do. It's not my business.

There's a meme on Facebook that says "They asked me why I don't have tattoos. So I told them, 'Do you see a ferrari with bumper stickers?'" Ha ha ha.

I love all my tattoos. They each mean something special to me. I always give myself 2 years of thinking about getting a tattoo before I actually go threw with it.

I don't think tattoos should be pointless and just got because they're "cool"....
It's something that is going to be on you for the rest of your life and it's not something that should be taken lightly. You should really care about what you're getting..

I have no intention of ever getting a tattoo because I'm not a fan of needles or pain, and since I've never wanted one, I'm fine with that. I do think that means I'm not really in a place to pass judgement on other peoples' tattoos, though I can and do appreciate the artistic value; in that respect, I think it might be better to, as others have said, really think about what tattoo/s you really want, and to wait a little longer/spend a little more for higher-quality work you'll really love. It'll be with you for a long time, after all, if not forever!

I don't think tattoos need to have meaning in order to be a valid choice, though I do think there should be some respect involved; for example, if you want to use imagery or symbols associated with a culture or belief-system that holds those images/symbols in high regard, getting it purely as a fashion thing seems a little disrespectful.

Tattoos aren't my thing (I hate pain and there's nothing I am certain I would want on my body for the rest of my life). But I like seeing other people's, and I'm a big fan of art. And you can learn a lot about people from their tattoos!
